ARTIST NOTES: This watercolour is of one of my favourite Australian birds... The Bourke Parrot is a beautiful small Parrot of outback Australia. Quiet and unobtrusive they can be hard to find and are most active at dawn and dusk. They're also a very common aviary bird.
In painting this I wanted to portray a family of these little gems as they could be seen in the breeding season rearing their young.
